About Me

I’m V, and I created IAM from lived experience, persistence, and a belief that people deserve to understand the systems that affect their lives.

My own experiences navigating housing, behavioral health, healthcare, disability services, and other public systems showed me how difficult it can be to find clear information, understand your rights, document what is happening, and be heard when something goes wrong.

IAM grew out of that experience.

This project is not about pretending that systems are simple or that every problem has an easy answer. It is about making complicated information easier to understand, helping people organize what they already know, and creating a place where lived experience and institutional knowledge can exist side by side.

I believe people should not have to become experts in bureaucracy just to advocate for themselves.

IAM is built around that idea: information, accountability, identity, and agency.

I bring the perspective of someone who has had to navigate these systems personally, while continuing to learn how they work from the inside—from policies and regulations to documentation, oversight, and the people responsible for implementing them.

This is a work in progress. So am I.

But the purpose is simple: to help make the path a little clearer for the next person who finds themselves having to navigate a system that was never designed to be easy to understand.

IAM is a project by IAM-THEBRAND LLC.
